Bucket List, What is on yours? 10/13/2011
Are you working though a Bucket List of goals you set yourself and put aside and now have the opportunity to make happen? Most of my Bucket List items have involved travel with family members I have wonderful memories of wilderness adventures with my sister, husband and children. I love a nature's wilderness where I have my writing materials a good camera, lots of canon camera batteries and someone I love to share the experience with me. This is the type of country I love, the less heavily populated areas of Australia. I don't feel any need to jump out of airo OK :-). A Bucket list item achieved for me tonight The success was in being ready to enter...lol...the winning isn't as important...I hardly dare to think I have a chance. I am proud though that I gave it my best shot and submitted the entry. I submitted the finished manuscript of 114, 417 word novel with a new title and a new entry fee for the unpublished manuscript award. Of course with 10,000 prize money and a $2,000. mentor program I just might get some steep competition and I know I still need to read though the entire work with a fine nit comb but yesterday's submission was entered in a deadline panic and shows it. I could find nothing in the rules to say I could not enter twice if I paid my fee and entered with a new title...a new beginning and synopsis and all those improvements I made. I should sleep tonight :-) Frankly I couldn't sleep for editing in my head all night last night. The result however was a great new opening for my novel. lol...Thank you LINDA ;-) for proof reading it and your always valuable suggestions. I have a second bucket list item in mind already....:-) But after writing for four days almost solid to be in this comp...I have to get back to 'life' and responsibilities tomorrow...then look at the next project once I catch up. 1 Comment I am doing the final editing of my current WIP, a novel set in the late 1940's and early 1950's.I believe this will appeal to young and seniors alike. If you can relate to this profile of Leslie Mayer, the mother of my child heroine or protagonist in the novel. If you can love or hate her or want to read more to form an opinion, then this is why I have built an n line character profile for her. I had a relaxing afternoon scrap booking on line creating a character page for Leslie, the mother of my girl protagonist in novel. I always had a clear vision of who this woman was and I know a writer's job is to show that image in words, but I am also an artist, and like making visual images too. Leslie's character is like many of my characters, good and bad, the reader decides if they love or hate this woman.Leslie Mayer, Fashion designer and wife of Peter Mayer.
