Roof top tents. 12/25/2009
A set up I have always admired for its great design is the roof top, tent. Perhaps this is best suited to those who are happy to live with less comforts than a caravan gives you but for those who love adventure, do not mind the set up and stairs to climb there is the advantage of being able to go to a lot more places and not needing to tow. I would not mind having one of these for a month, just to tour the Gibb River Road and the Northern Kimberley. Roof top tents are certainly worth a look. They usually mount on top of a wagon or car and have a tent style, living area that folds out at the side or the back of the vehical and it folds back down over your own bed, like a pack rack bag, when you travel. It might not have the comforts of a caravan but it is has access to four wheel drive only country, advantages and it is a lot safer than placing a tent directly on the ground.
