With hundreds of designated campgrounds, South Australia's parks offer a variety of natural settings to pitch a tent, park the camper trailer or simply roll out your swag under the stars.

Travellers will find powered sites and all essential facilities at Rocky River Campground in Flinders Chase National Park and at the Naracoorte Caves National Park campground.

Set up base at one of the campgrounds (equipped with water, toilets, barbecues, rubbish disposal and possibly showers) and explore the local treasures of these national parks and reserves:

• Deep Creek National Park
• Mount Remarkable National Park
• Lincoln National Park (Memory Cove)
• Innes National Park (Casuarina)
• Lake Eyre National Park
• Innamincka Regional Reserve
• Witjira National Park
• Coongie Lakes

 For those who prefer to leave the creature comforts at home and get back to basics, visit these campgrounds (with limited water, drop toilets and pit barbecues):

• Flinders Ranges National Park
• Innes National Park (Pondalowie Bay)
• Flinders Chase National Park (Harvey's Return, Snake Lagoon, West Bay)

Campgrounds with minimal or no facilities are also found in many national parks and reserves, with some being only accessible via walking trails.
